Fresh reports state that Ass. Corps Marshal Kayode Olagunju who is the new FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone 4 (Nasarawa, Plateau, and Benue state) has promised to discipline all traffic offenders to improve road safety in the Zone.
The new FRSC Zone 4 boss reportedly made this vow after a total of 359 erring motorists were convicted by the FRSC’s organized mobile courts in Nasarawa and Plateau states.

According to reports, the 359 convicted motorists in Nasarawa and Plateau states were arrested just between the 26th of June and 21st of July alone. This disclosure was made by Terry Hoomlong, the Deputy Route Commander and Acting Zona Public Educational Officer of FRSC in Jos state during his recent press briefing.
His statement revealed that 408 erring motorists were actually arrested by the FRSC and presented before 8 different Magistrate courts. 50 out of these 408 offenders were eventually acquitted and discharged, leaving about 359 convicts that were ordered to pay between 2 to 10,000 naira fine or face 2-6 months in jail.
Going by the PEO’s statement, a majority of the traffic offenders were arrested for tyre violation, Over-speeding, Overloading, vehicle license, and driving violations. Similarly, some of them were also arrested for violating traffic rules relating to motorcycle helmet usage, windscreen condition, and seat belt usage. Motorists operating within the Zone 4 regions have now been warned by the new FRSC boss to be more careful and keep to all Nigerian traffic rules and regulations else “face the music”.
Meanwhile, Ogun state also got a new FRSC commander last month and he similarly vowed to get hold of all traffic offenders in the state. Below is a video of Ogun state commissioner of police receiving the new FRSC commander a month ago:
