What was the policeman's offense?

Naijauto learned the policeman tried to protect a driver who disobeyed the traffic rules. Could he drove against the traffic because it's typical of Lagos drivers?

See the video.

The policeman was meddling in the FRSC officials duty of keeping the road safe

Now, why would a police officer protect a motorist who disobeyed the traffic when a soldier, some time ago, had taken to flogging motorists driving against traffic? His action is simply preventing FRSC officials from doing their job of keeping the road safe for motorists and commuters. If every driver disobeys the traffic and isn't made to face the punishment, there will be lawlessness on the road, leading to accidents

The policeman was then dragged into FRSC's vehicle

The actions of the FRSC officials elicited some reactions from Nigerians who watched the video.

See them.
