The spokesperson for EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said that the commission has been hot on the trail of the former councilor after a row of petitions against the criminal activities of his gang where received and quizzed by their Ibadan zonal office.

Naijauto gathered that over three cases of car robbery have been pointed to the gang, with the vehicles all recovered and now in their custody.

From investigations, it was discovered that the group resorted to the use of a similar trick to dispossess victims of their vehicles.

According to the statement,

"Adeojo often pretend to be a medical doctor, adopting different names and different institutions as his place of work to appear responsible and create a false sense of confidence to deceive the victims."

One of the cases against him stated that he pretended to be a doctor working at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He was said to have posed as one Dr. Omojola when he went to the shop of an Ibadan car dealer. He came with another gang member Babatunde Oni, also posing as his driver. They went there to negotiate on a Toyota Aventis car which the dealer decided to sell for ₦2 million.

The former councilor, Omojola, wrote a ₦2 million cheque with the car dealer's name and gave it to his driver to go and pay into the car dealers Zenith bank account number. The driver returned with a deposit slip indicating that the money has been paid.

Later, they found out the cheque used was a cloned one and wasn't approved. Unfortunately for the car dealer, he only got to know after the gang has driven off with the car.

Adeojo and the other gang member were also fingered as the robbers behind a Toyota Matrix which was stolen in Osun state.

EFCC told local media that the driver, Babatunde Oni, is currently cooling off at Agodi Correctional Center while Adeojo would be charged to court soon.
