Ford sets world record for gathering 1,326 Mustang cars in a parade

Ford gathers 1,326 Mustang owners at its facility to beat a world record for the largest gathering of Ford Mustang cars. See the impressive parade!

It was a record-breaking moment for Ford when Mustang owners all over Europe gathered to assist the automaker set a new world record for the largest gathering of Ford Mustang cars in a parade.

Naijauto learned that the feat was achieved at Ford's Lommel Proving Ground located in Germany. There, 1,326 Mustang vehicles were said to have taken part in a choreography put up by Ford to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Mustang sports car.

To put things in order at the parade ground, the Mustang cars all drove in a convoy non-stop, with 20 meters separating each car. Ford had smashed a previous record of this gathering in Toluca Mexico, where 960 cars came together on December 3, 2017, to show solidarity for the automaker.

To add more spice to the event, a fighter plane named P51 Mustang flew over Lommel Proving Ground.


The cars all drove in an uninterrupted convoy that saw each car being separated by 20 meters

Mustang was the bestselling sports coupe in the world, a title that was maintained four times in a row.

The Lommel Proving Ground is a testing facility where Ford strengthens the driving mettle of its car's for European buyers. The facility measures 3.22 km² while boasting of 50 miles of tracks.

Currently, the Ford Mustang is being sold in 20 countries in Europe. They include:

20 Europeans countries were represented there on the parade ground

The Mustang has the V8 GT model with a selling price of $52,895 (19 million). The 2.3 EcoBoost version comes at $46,563 (17 million) while the Bullitt model goes for $59,567 (21.5 million)
