The popular American automaker Ford has recently announced that customers should expect the hands-free driving feature to come with its ADA (Active Drive Assist) system by 2021. This means that Ford cars with this feature will be capable of autonomous driving while a human driver just needs to sit back, relax, and enjoy a hands-free ride. Cool, huh?
Ford promises to offer hands-free driving with its Active Drive Assist system by 2021
According to reports, the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover will be first to get this hands-free driving feature while some other 2021 Ford car models will follow as well. Ford’s ADA system is currently one of the top systems offered in the brand’s Co-Pilot 360 package of modern car technologies.
Before getting overly excited, we have to point out that customers interested in hands-free driving by 2021 will have to make two purchases to get it. Yes, it has to do with the way Ford’s current arrangement is structured. Customers will have to first order a Ford Mustang Mach-E alongside Active 2.0 (Prep Package) which is a factory add-on option that comprises hardware parts needed by the ADA system. For the second part, customers interested in the hands-free driving feature will then have to still buy the software and install through OTA updates or through a local dealer of Ford vehicles.
However, Darren Palmer – the BEV global (programs) director of Ford Motors says that the automaker will make the total price of the system very competitive and easy to afford.

Ford is set to launch the hands-free driving feature on its electric Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover by 2021
Based on current speculations by various car experts, this coming hands-free driving feature promised by Ford Motors should be even smarter and probably more practical than the similar “Super Cruise” feature that General Motors is currently “hyping”.
