The past few weeks must have been a really tough one for Lagosians. First, a truck fell on a commercial taxi killing 6 on Lekki-Epe expressway just upper weekend. Then this concluded weekend, several armed robbers attacked quite a number of Lagos rural communities and areas while they were staying at home on the F.G's lockdown order. Now, another sad story has surfaced from this same last week.
A fire outbreak in Lagos Airport Hotel reportedly destroyed a saloon car, a big bus, and a luxury SUV altogether. Fortunately, the fire barely affected the hotel building.

According to reports, this fire incident occurred on the night of Thursday 9th April 2020. The fire reportedly burnt down a luxury Cadillac Escalade SUV with an unrecognizable plate number, a saloon car (Honda Civic) with plate number “AKR234LZ” and a big Toyota “Coaster” bus with the registration number “LND133XW”.

Dr Damilola in his statement mentioned that the fire affected properties belonging to one “Tour Africa” transport company located within the hotel’s premises but not the hotel building. He explained that by the time LASEMA arrived at the scene of the incident, 3 vehicles had already caught fire and before they could even put out the entire fire; the cars were destroyed. He stated that investigations are ongoing so as to pinpoint the exact cause of this destructive fire and to prevent such incidents from repeating itself.
