Would you believe that the hometown of the popular Nigerian oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, has a 2.2-kilometre road that has been severely damaged by gully erosion? Fortunately, the lawmaker representing Anambra West and East has successfully gotten the federal government to finally approve the reconstruction of this important road. Press reports claim that a total sum of ₦2.5 billion was earmarked by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for the reconstruction of the popular 2.2-kilometer Ukpo road.

Going by earlier press reports, many houses and properties along the Ukpo road have been destroyed in the past by terrible gully erosion. Tony Nwoye, the senator representing Anambra West/East also explained he has been really worried about the deplorable condition of this popular road which links to Prince Eze’s hometown. The senator claims that the popular oil magnate has contributed a lot to his successful political career and this approval of for reconstruction of the road is a great achievement. Tony Nwoye says he feels that Prince Arthur Eze has been finally appreciated as the Federal Government has recent approved of ₦2.5 billion for the reconstruction of Ukpo road.
When commenting on the design of the Upko road and how it will be reconstructed, Senator Nwoye assured residents of the best quality. He also mentioned that the money allocated for the road project is properly captured in the 2021 budget of the Federal Govt. According to the remarks of Senator Nwoye, the reconstruction of Ukpo road will not only help to reduce erosion in but also improve transportation of goods.
In another news, residents of Ohafia/Arochukwu area in Abia State are still looking forward to the moment when construction works will eventually begin on the Ohafia-Arochukwu road that was recently approved for reconstruction by the Federal govt.
