Last weekend was a very messy and heartbreaking one for a popular Nigerian pastor who was almost assassinated. It was reported that the famous pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman's convoy was attacked and 7 persons were killed. Some unknown gunmen reportedly attacked the vehicles in Apostle Suleman’s convoy along the Benin-Auchi expressway. The famous pastor and his family survived the attack because they were riding inside a bulletproof car at that time. Unfortunately, many of the pastor’s security details and aides were killed by the bullets fired.

According to media sources, Apostle Johnson Suleman revealed that his wife and kids were all inside his bulletproof SUV when the gunmen attacked. He expressed his regrets and sadness over the death of four civilians and three policemen killed in his convoy. The popular pastor has now released a short video in which he narrated the ordeal with the unknown gunmen. He mentioned that the armed men opened fire on all the vehicles in his convoy on that fateful day. Fortunately, he survived with his family but the people travelling with him at that time in other vehicles were killed.

As expected, the recent attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy has been causing a lot of controversy amongst Nigerians online. Many people have begun throwing insults at the pastor because he was riding in a bulletproof car. A huge number of people are angry that he did not get an armoured vehicle for the people in his convoy. It is worth mentioning that Apostle Suleman is alleging that the attack was not a “kidnap” attempt but rather a failed assassination attack.
