A report on a recent unfortunate incident just reached us on the recent activities of gunmen along Kaduna-Zaria Road recently. From what we learnt, motorists were attacked by these gunmen last Sunday at Tsintiya axis of the highway in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

From the information that got to us, one of the travellers that got injured from the armed attack is Alhaji Kabir Muhammad, who has been identified as brother to Honourable Muhammad Abubakar Mamadi, the former member of the Federal House of Representative, from the Igabi Federal Constituency. The man is presently under doctor’s watch at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital located in Kaduna, where he was admitted.

According to a further report, this tragic incident was confirmed by Samuel Aruwan, who happens to be the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state. He disclosed this information last Monday when he said that these bandits were overpowered by 4 Battalion Nigerian Army, where one of them was killed while many were able to escape with wounds from the bullets.

For several months now, the activities of these gunmen are becoming more prevalent on the Nigerian roads. Just recently in a similar story, a policeman and a motorcyclist were both killed during gunmen attack in a place close to Etenyi village, Igumale, in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.
