The Public Relations Officer for Enugu State Police Command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, has released a press statement warning the users of fake private and government number plates as well as spy number plates. He said the Enugu Police Command will henceforth begin to arrest and also prosecute these set of people in the state.

It was also stated in the press statement of the Enugu State Police Command that the new warning also applies to people using covered plate numbers, unregistered vehicles, illegal sirens, and those abusing government number plates. The warning further stated that the Police Command will arrest and also prosecute people who normally use unauthorized police officers for personal engagements.
According to press reports, this new directive was directly given by Mr Mohammed Adamu – the IG of Police. The Commissioner of Police in Enugu state also told the press that a directive has been given to police officers in this respect, to begin impounding vehicles of offenders regardless of their status or class. He also warned the DPOs, and Area Commanders in the state to desist from deploying police officers to unauthorized individuals or groups. He warned that such unauthorized policemen will henceforth be arrested and dealt with if caught.
