Last week was packed with lots of drama to behold at the EndSARS protests anniversary venue in Lagos. Despite the initial controversies surrounding the protest, many law enforcement officers were said to have still violated the protesters’ rights again. One of the highlighted reports alleged that an innocent UBER driver was assaulted by LNSC and police officers at Lekki on Oct 20. Sequel updates now have it that the assaulted Uber driver is demanding a ₦500million compensation from Lagos Govt. Quite interesting, isn’t it?
Viral photos confirming the reports of a Uber driver that was attacked by law enforcement officers during the EndSARS memorial protest
The assaulted Uber driver has been identified as one Clement Adedotun and he is said to have been attacked at the EndSARS memorial protest ground by men of the LNSC and police force. The young man through his lawyer has now taken legal action against the law enforcement officers that assaulted him on Oct 20. According to his lawyers, the officers that attacked Adedotun also damaged the windshield of the Toyota Corolla sedan which he was driving under UBER license as a taxi. The legal papers claim that ever since Adedotun’s car has been damaged on Oct 20, he hasn’t been able to earn his daily pay because no repair has been done to his car till now.

As of the time of writing this report, several media sources have confirmed that the LNSC officers that assaulted the Uber driver have now been sanctioned. The officers were alleged to have unlawfully treated Clement Adedotun during the EndSARS anniversary protest.
