A suspected fake native doctor known as Fatai Olalere Aliu, was apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ibadan. This was disclosed by the commission on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. His was arrested when operatives of the commission raided his residence at Kisumu Estate, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to information made available by the EFCC, the suspect had cajoled a number of people to part with their money on the premise that he had spiritual powers to provide a solution to their problems. The commission stated that, prior to his arrest, several reports had been made about him defrauding people, and intelligence reports carried out traced the allegations to him.

The suspect was also alleged to indulge in money doubling, promising his victims to multiple their money, but ended up diverting the money to himself.

In the course of the raid, officers of the EFCC went to his shrine situated in a forest along Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
Three fancy cars including a Honda Pilot and two Toyota Corolla were among the items recovered from the suspect after arrest. Other items found in his possession were land documents and three buildings in Ibadan.
