The Dubai Police have surprised a UAE national driver named Said Al Sweedi with a brand new car for always obeying the traffic laws in the country.

Al Sweedi wasn't at home when the Dubai Police paid him a surprise visit on Monday to show their appreciation, as he was reported to be traveling abroad. So, the new car was received by his family on Al Sweedi's behalf at their home in Al Khawaneej area.

The Assistant Commander-in-Chief for operations, Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin stated that Al Sweedi has an impeccable driving record which indicated that he had never violated the traffic rules and regulations while on the road. His adherence to the traffic laws earned him the car which was part of Dubai police's white points system.

Maj-Gen Al Zafin said,

We encourage all motorists to abide by traffic laws. We have a system in place to honour good drivers and reward them with prizes

According to the general, the prize isn't much, however, it's a way of encouraging other motorists to adhere to the traffic rules.

And now to Nigeria. With the daily drama that goes on in traffic-congested areas and states like Lagos, it's hard for us to imagine a motorist who can boast of having a clean record as far as traffic laws are concerned. Whether there's an incentive to get or not, we encourage all motorists to always follow the traffic rules and regulations.
