It was a happy day for residents of Sapele who can now sleep with their two eyes closed. According to a new traffic report, a suspected notorious armed robber was arrested in Sapele by the men of the police command in Delta State. They were also able to recover a lot of ammunition from this robber who has been terrorizing the neighbourhood for quite some time now. The gallant Delta police officers nabbed the serial armed robber alongside his cohorts and recovered a stolen Toyota car from them as well.

DSP Bright Edafe, who happens to be the state police spokesperson, confirmed this story in his recent statement issued at Warri. According to him, the suspect was arrested last Wednesday 10th of November, 2021. Edafe further said that the suspected robber has been on the police’s watch list for unleashing terror on people living in Sapele and its environs. The statement reveals that the police were able to track him down to the place where he was arrested with the help of a tip-off. They were able to retrieve a locally-made pistol and 7 live cartridges from his residence. In another development, the police spokesman stated that a serial car snatcher was also nabbed by the operatives. He said it took the combined effort of the police and local vigilantes in Oghara, Ethiope LGA of the State on the 8th of November 2021.
Edafe revealed that they were able to recover a stolen Toyota Corolla sedan from the car snatcher. The police found three people, 2 males and a female in the stolen vehicle. He said the male suspect was able to escape but police apprehended the other two occupants. During interrogation, the male suspects confessed to snatching the Toyota car with his male accomplice from Benin City in Edo State. Further interrogations also revealed that the female occupant was actually a passenger when the car was snatched. She disclosed that they inflicted injuries on her and also tried to rape her. Edafe said the police are still investigating the case.
Meanwhile, another report from Ondo State claims that the police is investigating a recent incident involving angry residents and an alleged Yahoo boy. The report revealed that some angry Ondo residents set ablaze a Toyota Camry sedan of an alleged Yahoo boy who crushed two people to death.
