Naijauto lauds Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa for announcing cars and cash gifts to be given to the overall best principal and best headteacher in the state as a reward for their outstanding service delivery.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa announced the continuous giving of cars and cash gifts to the best principals and headteachers
Governor Okowa made this announcement at the Teachers’ Award for Excellence ceremony’s maiden edition in Delta state, an event organized by the state’s Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education. On the long list of school headteachers and principals in the state, Mrs. Doris Toyin Esiedafe emerged the overall best headteacher for public primary schools, while Mr. Fidelis Okolafor emerged the best public secondary school principal alongside 10 other winners (runners-up). As this award ceremony was organized to celebrate the 2019 World Teachers’ Day, the atmosphere was filled with joy when Governor Okowa personally congratulated all of the awardees and also promised them cash gifts as well as cars.

After the announcement of the rewards, Governor Okowa explained to the audience that the gifts were necessary to help motivate all the teachers in continuing to impact excellent moral and academic knowledge to students all over the state. During his speech, the governor said;
“I believe this kind of recognition will touch the hearts of our teachers and make them work harder.”

Governor Okowa also encouraged all the teachers to stay committed to delivering their duty as he promises to upscale the current rewards in the subsequent editions of the award ceremony.
