Sacked governor-elect in Bayelsa State, David Lyon, was seen rehearsing for his swearing-in ceremony in an open-truck Land-Rover Defender.

Little did he know that he would be sacked by the Supreme Court before D-day, or he wouldn’t have gone through the stress of preparing for the swearing-in ceremony for the Bayelsa State governor-elect that was scheduled for the following day.

It is absolutely normal to be very excited knowing you will soon find yourself in a very powerful position. That was the kind of high spirit the sacked governor-to-be was in before the court ruling. From what we learned, David Lyon was present at an event where he was undergoing a rehearsal for his swearing-in ceremony. He was caught in a Land-Rover Defender open-top pickup variant for the ceremonial parade.

According to reports, the governor-elect was sacked alongside his deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo, by a Supreme Court’s panel of Justices comprising 5 members. He was asked to quit the position due to the fake certificate submitted by his running mate/deputy-gov to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sacked governor-elect in Bayelsa, David Lyon, ran for the governorship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Consequently, the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Douye Diri, was declared the winner of the election by the state’s INEC.
