A Dangote truck fully loaded with cement is reported to have collided with a Lagos Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) along Ikorodu road, Lagos State, killing a female passenger and injuring 59 others.
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), DG, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu told newsmen that the truck, loaded with cement, suffered a brake failure, resulting in the accident.
He also said other sister agencies were on ground to ease the movement of vehicles at the scene of the collision.

While giving a report on the accident, Oke-Osanyintolu remarked,
"A Dangote truck fully loaded with cement had a brake failure and had a head-on collision with a Primero blue Mass Transit bus with number plate, LSR-228XS, conveying 40 seated and 20 standing passengers.
All passengers on board suffered various degrees of injuries with one female passenger losing her life and the driver suffered severe life-threatening injuries with his leg decapitated. Recovery operation ongoing."
He ended his report by advising motorist to drive carefully whenever they are on the road.

As at the time of reporting this news, Naijauto was informed that the BRT bus driver and his assistant, who were rushed to the hospital, have been confirmed dead, thus bringing the death toll to 3.
