A few days back, the Governor had reportedly promised about 20 vehicles to be donated for use by the Coronavirus task force. However, the concerned Governor has now stepped up the number with an additional 30 vans to reach 50 vehicles in total.
According to reports, Governor Ayade also went around the state capital (Calabar) to personally monitor the enforcement of his “No Mask, No Movement” order as he cares more about the livelihood of the state. The Governor also told the press that he has ordered the shut down of shared borders between the state and Cameroon Republic in a bid to protect the state as it currently has no recorded case of the Coronavirus.
Governor Ben Ayade stressed that the compulsory nose mask stated in his directive is being produced locally by the garment factory in the state and distributed at no cost to citizens. The Governor also thanked people of Cross River state for quickly complying with his directive on wearing face masks and he assured them that such corporative energy will help the state to remain free from COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, public places in COVID-19 affected cities like Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja are being fumigated already while the Federal Government is thinking of extending lockdown beyond 14days. See this press video below that covers this report:
