For Sallah celebrations, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Marshal, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi has urged various road users to maintain safety awareness when using the road this period.
Mr Bisi Kazeem, who is the FRSC Public Education Officer, on Tuesday, made this statement in Abuja. He said that, Mr. Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal made the call in his Sallah message. This was during his congratulatory message to those participating in the celebrations.
Mr. Oyeyemi pleaded with the Muslim celebrants participating in the celebration to practice and exhibit the spirit of kindness and consideration for others making use of the road by following road safety rules. While saying this, he also congratulated them on the completion of Ramadan which he referred to as the period of self-sacrifice and self-denial.

He further assured that the FRSC is as usual committed to seeing that the roads are safe for all users who are travelling to and fro for the festival celebrations. He also added that enough preparations have been carried out and a large number of personnels have been deployed throughout the country particularly along the major corridors.
This action is to prevent traffic congestions in highways and roads and also to contribute massively to accidents free roads throughout this special period.
While saying this Mr. Oyeyemi also advised motorists and various road users to abide with traffic rules and regulations. Aside this, they should also obey any instructions given to them by any FRSC personnel and security agencies. These are working tirelessly to prevent road misfortunes and promote free traffic flow for motorist making use of the road.

Mr. Oyeyemi reassured that aside the deployment of FRSC officers, other FRSC facilities such as the ambulances, tow trucks and temporary roadside clinics and also the zebra formations have been placed across the country. This is part of the safety regulation practices carried out by FRSC officers. He ended by again pleading with motorists to contribute in making the celebrations peaceful, safe and accident free.

In the case of emergencies, road users are encouraged to call the FRSC Toll free line stated: 122 or 0702 255 3772 to report any issues. Mr Oyeyemi promised that the operational commands will be open throughout the Sallah celebrations and after it.
