Oxlade - Away
Nigerian Artiste Oxlade broke into the Nigerian music video scene with his cool voice and unique style in 2020, and so far has become an instant hit. In April, the video for his hit single ‘Away’. The music video opens with a panoramic shot of the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle driven across a bridge by Oxlade. The bright orange car appears throughout the video as Oxlade sings about his romantic interest in his video vixen.
The car is loaded with what seems like his belongings as he proposes to take his woman away, as the song title implies. Finally, after much pleading, his woman leaves with him in the Beetle loaded with luggage.
Rema - IRON MAN
Rema, another Nigerian music sensation used the Beetle for aesthetical purposes for his music video Iron Man. A bright orange beetle was also used, very much similar to that used by Oxlade, and we could rightly wonder if it was the same car. Anyways, the car takes different shades under colored lights as the artist performs right in front of it.
2. Cadillac
The Cadillac has been used in Nigerian music videos over the years due to its elegance and extravagance, especially when that is what the artist is trying to portray. The following videos, among others, used the Cadillac for their music videos in 2020.
2.1 Cadillac Deville Convertible - (Falz-- BOP DADDY)
Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, released the video to his single Bop Daddy using the Cadillac which he calls in the song, Droptop caddy.
Falz and his gang cruise around throughout the video in the Cadillacs while he spits out the lyrics to his song. The Cadillac fit perfectly for his song because it was a repeated line and of course because of the majesty and zest that the Cadillac exudes.

At the touch of a button, the fabric roof stows away for the open-air tour, which Falz and his gang took full advantage of. The song instantly became a social media hit, with the hashtag #bopdaddychallenge.

2.2 Cadillac Eldorado - (Omah Lay—LOLO)
Omah Lay, like Oxlade, mentioned earlier, is one of the breakthrough artists in the Nigerian music industry this year. The music video for his hit track, Lolo, presents Omah Lay cruising in a Cadillac Eldorado. Alternating between a hair salon, and showing off on the streets with the Cadillac, we see his video vixens dancing and draped on the edges of the Cadillac.

3. BMW
3.1 Rema and Rvssian - Beamer (2019 BMW i8 Roadster)
The 2019 BMW i8 Roadster was on show in Rema hit collabo "Beamer".
In the video, Rema shows off his gangster swag and stunts with the BMW. Some feel it is a better and more contemporary version of the Audi R8, Porche 911, Cabriolet, and other topless supercars. In the video Rema flaunts the vehicle, showcasing its speed and presenting its style as he sings beside the scissor doors of the BMW.
The flamboyance of the vehicle is an epitome of the sort of style that Rema has. Rema would later be rewarded by the brand for promoting the beamer, as the BMW is usually called.

4. Maserati
4.1 Olakira - In My Maserati (Maserati GranTurismo)
Inspired by his love for the Maserati, Olakira, performs Maserati promising his love for a ride in the exotic sports car.
In the video, we see different shades of Maserati, so much so that one would easily think it was a Maserati advert. There's a lot of spinning wheels and a show-off of the luxurious brand. Olakira, for his video, shot by the renowned Clarence Peters, decides to use the Maserati GranTurismo in the graphics.
Many remember the GranTurismo to be the most quickly developed car in the auto industry going from design to production in just nine months. The Maserati, without a doubt, is perfect for the panache of the Nigerian music video and has been used several times by other artists.
5. Mercedes-Benz
5.1 Wande Coal - Iskaba (Classic Mercedes 220SE)
Wande Coal is a veteran in the Nigerian music industry and even though Iskaba wasn't released this year, it's still a bang hit for parties across the country due to its unique sound. Wande Coal, in the video, went the classic style with the Classic Mercedes 220SE.
The car is driven with an open roof throughout the video and usually has Wande Coal and his gang dancing in front of it.

6. Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon - (Many songs)
In a world filled with cool cars, one has stood out to be classic and exceptional, and that is the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Apart from its rugged and cool appearance, this Benz has an expensive look, no wonder it catches the eye of numerous Nigerian music celebrities.

One of the most notable features of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon is its appearance in the music collaboration between dance hall Reggae King Patoranking and his Tanzanian counterpart Diamond Platnumz in the song "Love You Die".
If you've seen the music video you will remember this white G-Wagon Patroranking himself used in picking up his pregnant love interest.
Anyways I am certain you can think of several other instances the G-Wagon was featured in a Nigerian Music video including its various special appearance in Chief Obi's song "Carry Go" featuring Olamide, where this black monstrous G-Wagon owned and rocked the video even more than that beautiful vixen, lol.

5. Rolls-Royce Phantom
The Rolls-Royce doesn't in any way play second fiddle to any other four-door luxury sedan. It is an exceptional vehicle that portrays the highest forms of grandeur and bespoke excellence. The exterior of the 2020 version of this beauty commands so much respect, especially with its body integrated Pantheon grille and giant 21-inch wheels, making sure it never goes past unnoticed.
I guess that's why the famous and separated music duo P-Square was super fond of this ride and would even feature it in their song "Collabo" featuring the almighty Don Jazzy. The grey Rolls-Royce made a majestic appearance right from the start of the video, thus setting the tone for a very solid music video that followed.
Conclusion
Using exotic and expensive vehicles in music videos gets you a whole lot of attention, more views, a lot more followers, and ultimately a higher popularity rating. With that, you probably know you are setting yourself up to get richer...Lol.
