In the course of history, there have been many times car owners had to suffer what could simply be described as “unforeseen bad luck”. Yes, we have heard of several incidents where a very big tree would just fall on cars parked under its shade. Other times, a random vehicle from nowhere might suffer brake failure and eventually ram into cars parked nearby while the owners are away. This type of “bad luck” is what recently played out in Lagos when a container-laden truck suddenly fell on a gorgeous Toyota sedan that was parked inside private school premises. Press reports claim that the incident happened on Wednesday 3rd of February 2021 at Anthony Village loop in Ikorodu, Lagos state.

We can’t even imagine how heartbreaking this incident would be for the owner of the beautiful Toyota sedan that was destroyed by the container that fell over. Dr Femi Oke-Osamyintolu, the DG of LASEMA, says that the container fell on a Toyota Corolla sedan with plate registration number AKD 172 FK. He claimed that LASEMA officials have recovered the container that fell over and the attached truck which has the plate registration number AYE 628 ZQ. The LASEMA boss says there was no passenger in the Toyota car when the container fell on it and there was never any record of casualty during the entire incident. He sympathized with the owner of both vehicles and confirmed that personnel of LASTMA, LASEMA and the Nigeria police have helped to clear traffic congestion in the axis.
