One cannot ignore the fact that no car is made to last forever and the breakdown of most vehicles sometimes should be seen as a normal “thing”. However, what is beyond normal is having several people from different parts of the world who use a particular car model, report the same issue over and over again. This is why the American non-profit consumer advocacy organization, Consumer Report, has released a new list of particular car models that may likely have engine issues, judging from past data/complaints.
Cars aren’t made to last forever, but that is not an excuse for persistent issues common to some car models
Sometimes last year, we revealed the 7 worst car recalls ever in the auto industry and then we later went ahead to also reveal the top 10 cars with the worst resale values in Nigeria. Our reason for giving out such vital information is to help car buyers make the right choices and to enable them to gain more insight into the world of automobiles. This article is another one of the useful resources that can help make better decisions when looking to buy a new or used car.
According to the new list released by Consumer Reports, all 2009 to 2010 variants of the Audi A4 sedan that come with a 2.0-liter engine are prone to having engine issues in the long run. The non-profit organization revealed that once these Audi models cover between 107,000 to 153,000-miles, the engine begins to give unexpected issues according to data gathered over the years. Meanwhile, the organization provided alternatives to this particular car and their list includes the Acura TL, Infiniti G, and Lexus ES models.

The second listed car model on the new Consumer Reports’ list is the 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck with a 6.4-liters (diesel) engine. The organization claims that this particular truck model is prone to engine problems once it has covered between 65,000miles to 190,000 miles. Unfortunately, there were no alternatives provided for this truck by the organization itself.
Consumer Reports data shows that the 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck usually face engine issues after covering 65,000miles
And the third car model on the list is the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser which comes with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. Consumer Reports says that this model starts to get engine issues when its total mileage is between 102,500 miles or 133,000 miles. Fortunately, the alternative to this car model is the incredibly well-performing Toyota Matrix hatchback which shouldn’t give you such issues.
