Movies and cars are surely like bread and butter, so to enjoy the one better, you most definitely need the other.

Nollywood has always appreciated this combination: no wonder cars are constant in virtually every movie produced in the industry. From Wedding Party's "Rolls Royce" down to the Ferrari 360 used in Merry Men 2, all of these vehicles are so distinguished in their respective scenes that they look like characters themselves.

This article would focus not on the most outstanding and, but on the most common cars in Nollywood moviesthe 2nd biggest movie industry in terms of movies produced yearly. Now let's go into the details!!!

7 Most common cars in Nollywood movies

1. Toyota Corolla

This car is not only common in Nollywood movies, but it is also a vehicle that is quite popular across the country. A very conspicuous appearance of the famous Toyota Corolla is in the movie, "Last Flight to Abuja" which featured the Famous British Nigerian movie star Hakeem Kae-Kazim.

If you've watched the movie, you'll remember Uche Odoputa, who starred in the movie as Efe, drive this Toyota Corolla that has a very conspicuous dent on the side possibly from an accident. That scene with that dented Corolla portrayed the real spirit of the Corolla, a rugged and loved ride even with her imperfections.

The Corolla surely appeared in a host of other movies which you can also share in the comment section below.

The Corolla which is a flagship model in the Toyota clan comes with such a beautiful design, posts very impressive fuel efficiency, and maintenance cost. The latest Corolla is offered in two four-cylinder engine options including a 1.8-liter base engine that produces 139 hp and 126 pound-feet of torque.

Only obtainable in the SE and XSE trim is the 2.9-liter engine placed at 169 hp and 151 pound-feet of torque.

2. Toyota Sienna

Whenever you mention the Toyota Sienna used in a Nigerian movie, you will probably remember an armed robber scene or a kidnapping scene where the victim was brazenly carted away in this not so fine-looking Toyota Sienna space bus. And you know most Nollywood movies have this crime scene as part of the play, so you can now imagine how often the Toyota Sienna has been featured.

One recent feature of the famous Toyota Sienna is in the 2020 movie "The Millionaire Teenage Daughter". Go see the movie and watch out for the Siena making a tall appearance in several sets of this interesting movie.

You can also easily get a healthy listing of Toyota Sienna for sale in Nigeria on Naijauto for prices ranging from ₦850,000 for 2002 models to about ₦7.5 million for 2012 models.

3. Range Rover

The Range Rover SUV is a vehicle notably associated with high-income earners and generally showcases a measure of financial success. Most Nollywood producers have had to portray this theme in their movies and there is no car as deserving and appropriate for such roles as the famous Range Rover SUV.

The use of the Range Rover SUV is so common that we even have several Nollywood movies with the words "Range Rover" in their names. Most notable is the movie the Range Rover Cult.

Talking more on the SUV, the Range Rover has a design that reeks of affluence and style, as well as a brawny and muscular stance. The most recent Range Rover Sport has an official 355-hp turbocharged six-cylinder engine and also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers this four-wheel-drive beauty.

4. Mercedes-Benz Models

If you are a big fan of Nollywood movies, you will agree with me that the Mercedes-Benz has had a storied presence in most movies produced by this industry. Several models of the Mercedes-Benz, including the likes of

The G-Wagon made one of its most recent appearance in Chika Ike's 2020 movie "Small Chops", the movie has already grossed ₦25 million after its release in January of 2020.

5. Lexus RX 350

Another amazing vehicle that makes our list is the Lexus RX 350, which is by far the most commonly utilized SUV in recent Nigerian movies. Whenever, a scene that tries to portray a young wealthy, or Nigerian celebrity, the Lexus RX 350 SUV is the first option and best choice for the movie makers.

Although the latest RX 350 doesn't really have much cargo space like its rivals, it still ranks as one of the best luxury midsize SUVs and comes with lots of safety technology as well as a stunning exterior design

The RX 350 is notably known for being strong and capable engine-wise, it comes with a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that exudes 295 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. It is matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

6. Toyota Camry

Another beauty that has become popular in our Nigerian movies is the Toyota Camry, probably loved because of its affordable price and dogged design which has given it the ability to scale through the condition of our poor roads. The car generally portrays the everyday kind of car of the average Nigerian, which is obviously the reason why it gets to star in countless Nollywood movies.

Alongside the Corolla, the Camry is one of the most popular on Nigerian roads

This car is so common in Nollywood movies that you can actually miss it because your mind ends up paying less attention to it.

The recent Camry is offered with two engine choices, a 3.5-liter V6 that produces over 301hp and a base engine that boasts of between (202-206) hp from its 2.5 four-cylinder engine. The vehicle comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Though having a trunk space which is below average, the latest version of the Toyota Camry brags about a benevolent list of forthright infotainment controls, basic safety tech, a calm ride, salient steering, and a commanding engine to cap it off.

7. Toyota Prado

The Toyota Prado is another stunner that should be included in our list. The vehicle is mostly featured by Nollywood producers who set up themes related to politicians and governors.

The latest version of the Prado comes with an impressive engine but an old-fashioned infotainment system along with a poor fuel economy. Nevertheless, it's still an amazing vehicle as a result of the tons of standard features, which is the reason why it gets featured in most Nigerian movies

Under the hood of the Prado is a mighty 5.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive are all delivered as standard features.
