On Tuesday 24th of December 2019, the Chinese government donated 100 brand-new police vehicles to Ghana in an effort to help the nation strengthen its law enforcement and capacity building.

A report from the News Agency of Nigeria website records that the Chinese ambassador to Ghana, Wang Shiting explained that these vehicles were particularly donated to help protect both foreign investors and the Ghanaian people as well.

Wang Shitting reportedly commended the currently increasing bilateral progress and exchanges made in the further development of China-Ghana relations. He also added that China has now become the biggest investor and trade partner to Ghana.

The report claims that Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo genuinely expressed his full gratitude to the government of China for this kind gesture towards the Ghanaian police and said that China was a reliable and strong friend. He reportedly added that these donated vehicles will surely reinforce the logistical capability and mobility of the Ghanaian Police generally.
