Changi Airport in Singapore, which currently holds the position as the best airport in the world, recently unveiled an incredible glass dome worth $1.2 billion. The glass dome also known as Jewel Changi Airport has the biggest indoor waterfall and a massive indoor garden. The dome consists of ten storeys across 137, 000 square meters of a total area, all fall under the steel façade and a glass.

There is an alternator between the water and the mist. The forest valley is the core of the jewel, which effectively contains over 200 species of plants. The world’s tallest indoor waterfall, Rain Vortex, showers 7 stories from a central opened oculus in a domed roof.

A Canopy Park with lots of play attractions, walking trails, gardens and dining outlets are all features of the top floor of the Jewel. The crystal clouds are all produced from faux gems and wire.

The dips are filled with fog at every few minutes. When you decide to visit this airport, you would notice that the jewel surrounding has more than 280 retail stores and eateries, 130-room hotel owned by Jewel itself and the YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport.

A group of consultant consisting of Safdie Architects, which were led by Moshe Safdie, a celebrated and world renounced architect was in charge of the project. Other architects involved in this incredible project include RSP and Benoy.

Jewel Changi Airport - The World's Best Airport

This particular airport has been at the top of the poll of Skytrax awards for six consecutive years as the best airport in the world.

One thing you should also now about this airport is that it handles about 7,400 flights every week and currently holds the 7th position in the world’s busiest airport for global traffic.

The Singapore Changi Airport manages a record of 65.6 million of air passengers and airfreight weighed 2.15million tonnes last year, 2018.
