While most people like to wash their cars by themselves, many others prefer taking their vehicles to professional car wash shops. Unfortunately, it has become a common phenomenon to hear different ridiculous experiences people often encounter with car wash shops. One of such unbelievable stories was that of a car wash staff recently arrested for stealing a customer’s car in Katsina State.

The Katsina State police command identified the arrested suspect as Abdullahi Sabo, a 30-yr-old man who hails from Daura town. He was said to have stolen a vehicle that belongs to a Kano State resident who took it for car wash service sometime last month. The police disclosed that the vehicle in question is a 2017 Honda Accord model. The owner of the car reportedly took it for a car wash service at the Badawa Quarters area of Kano State when a staff (Abdullahi Sabo) fled with the vehicle. The unfortunate incident occurred around 1200hrs but the car owner lodged an official complaint to the police around 1400hrs on 30/11/2021 – the same day the car was stolen.

As of the time of lodging complaints to Kano police, the stolen Honda Accord vehicle was valued at ₦8.5million (₦8,500,000). The police report claims that the vehicle was stolen from the car wash shop located in Kumbotso LGA of Kano State. Surprisingly, Abdullahi Sabo was apprehended with the same vehicle in Katsina State where he was planning to sell it off. This shocking incident simply reminds us to be extra careful when dealing with car wash operators in Nigeria.
