A two-man robbery gang met their waterloo recently as they were arrested by the Police in Anambra State. According to a statement by the spokesman of the command, Haruna Mohammed, the alleged vehicle thieves were arrested through a combined effort involving detectives from the Central Police Station in Onitsha and a team from the Federal Highway Patrol. The suspects identified as Ifeanyi Jude (25) and Okwudili Okoli (30) were arrested shortly after stealing a car belonging to a traditional ruler whom they used to work with.

The statement read that the principal suspect Jude, with the aid of his accomplice Okwudili, planned the theft of a Toyota Corolla car numbered HRH -01-NEN which belonged to Igwe Robert Nwankwo, King of Adazi Ani – a community in Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to the spokesman, the suspects who were employees of the traditional ruler denied having any connection to the disappearance of the vehicle on Monday June 23, 2019. However, the story changed when the main culprit Jude, was caught driving the vehicle along Nsukka road in Enugu. Upon interrogation, he confessed to have stolen the car with the help of his accomplice.
Haruna stated that the case was still under investigation, and that the suspects would be charged to court subsequently.
