Suspected armed robbers ran out of luck when their gun hooked during a car-snatching operation in Lagos. The tables turned. See what happened next!

These two robbery suspects met their waterloo after their gun failed to shoot during a car robbery in Lagos.

Naijauto gathered that the suspects, Abbey Kolawole (40) and Ikenna Eze (30), along with the leader of their gang identified as Femi, accosted a vehicle with two occupants in Iyana Ipaja, a community in Lagos.

The gang leader, Femi, reportedly made the first shot in the air, and proceeded to shoot at one of the occupants, but the local gun hooked. Noticing the failed gun shot, residents of the community ceased the opportunity to chase them. The three robbers fled the scene. While Femi successfully escaped, Eze and Kolawole were not lucky. They were caught in the process of scaling a fence.

Upon arrest, one of the suspects, Eze, made a confession stating that their leader, Femi, engaged them to assassinate one of the car occupants for threatening him.

“The man came to Femi’s house in Agege Abbattoir with many cult members and threatened to kill Femi. So, Femi invited us to his house so that he would deal with the man first.

“The plan was to shoot the man in the leg but after firing the first shot into the air, the gun hooked and before he could reload it, residents came out and were moving towards us.

He further sated that Femi was able to escape because he was familiar with the environment. He and Kolawole could not find their way because they were strangers in the area.

The incident took place around Iyana Ipaja area in Lagos

Both suspects were taken to Gowon Police Station for further investigation and persecution.
