The Lagos State Police Command, Owotu Division, has arrested a 20-year-old car robber, Yusuf Adesanya, who specializes in stealing cars and motor spare parts.

Naijauto learned the suspect was caught by Ikorodu residents, where he had gone to steal a vehicle after stealing some car spare parts in the area. On being caught, he was handed over to operatives of the Nigerian Police Owotu Division, under the supervision of CSP Margaret Okonkwo.
While making a confessional statement, Adesanya was said to have mentioned some traders of Ladipo Market as buyers of the stolen cars and spare parts.
According to the information given to the police by Adesanya, he hails from Ogun State but resides in Lagos, at the Agbede area, Ikorodu. He goes around stealing vehicles and removing spare parts of cars and then supplying the proceeds to some Ladipo Market traders who buy it off him.
The suspect was caught in the act of trying to take away a car where it was parked, on the Miki Miki bus stop located at Igbolumo. Adesanya had already removed some car central locks and the brain box of a Corolla model car and had tried to steal a car before he was caught red-handed.
On interrogation, Adesanya confessed and disclosed further that he has been stealing motor spare parts for two years and the brain boxes he had stolen were being sold to a trader at Ladipo Market, simply identified as Mr.Okey.

Police officials stated that Okey was trailed to Ladipo Market but he absconded.
The suspect, Adesanya was detained at the police station after recovering all the exhibits from him. A police source said Adesanya will be charged to court and that they are doing everything to make sure his accomplice, key of Ladipo Market, is arrested.
Some Ikorodu residents at the scene of the incident had lauded the Police for the speedy response in apprehending the suspect while stating that Adesanya's confession will help the police to control car theft and vandalization in Ikorodu and close by areas.
