Just in?
Naijauto.com has recently gotten a report of a certain fake car dealer based in Abuja who was on Monday the 18th of February, 2019 arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Zonal office Enugu. The man was later identified as one Obinna Clement Ogbuehi.
You must have heard this popular saying in Nigeria that “Every day is for the thieves but one day is for the owner”. This is one bitter truth that most long-time criminals like to ignore. It has been noticed that as criminals continue in their shady and wayward ways, they’ll keep on building a strong resistance against the fear of being caught one day.
But little did they know that the feared “One day” might just be around the corner. Such was the case of this Ogbuehi man who this news is about.
Ogbuehi - The Fake Abuja car dealer that was arraigned over a ₦9 million ($25,300) fraud
He was tracked, arrested and presented before Justice A.A Nwobodo of the Enugu State High court on a 2-count charge of “having obtained under false pretenses” as well as “criminal conversion of over Twenty-Five Thousand Three Hundred U.S Dollars ($25,300)” which is ₦9 million.
According to the charges pressed against him, Ogbuehi’s offenses amounted to:
“obtaining Money by False Pretenses contrary to Section 1 (1) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act”,
and,
“stealing – which is contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law of Enugu State”,
both of which he will be punished under the same law.
This is a clear warning to all those that are still getting involved in these dubious, illegal, and inhuman acts. Let them hide, let them keep on scamming people, the truth is that if they don’t change their ways, nemesis will catch up with them one day for sure.
