The police in Canada and the US recently busted a massive auto theft operation involving a total of about 900 stolen cars that were reportedly set to be shipped to various locations in Africa. Press reports claim that out of the 900 intercepted stolen vehicles, 73 were particularly bound for Nigeria and Ghana and they worth an estimated ₦1.8billion ($4.5 million). The reports also revealed that the gang of car thieves who were arrested mostly steal popular car brands like Honda, Toyota and Lexus. They are also known for targeting vehicles that are parked along the driveways in residential areas.

According to media reports, 73 vehicles that were stolen from various locations across the Greater Toronto Area in Canada got intercepted in a recently busted auto theft operation. Canadian media sources claim that the police were able to achieve this successful raid operation because of a comprehensive investigation that was launched 2 months ago.

The Canadian police revealed from their investigation that the alleged car thieves were usually operating out of an undisclosed location around Kitimat Road in Mississauga, Canada. The police also revealed that the notorious gang always drive any car they steal to a pre-planned seaport where the vehicle will eventually get shipped down to countries like Nigeria or Ghana.
