Buscar - A new automotive brand in Nigeria

On Tuesday, a new auto brand called Buscar was introduced in Lagos, Nigeria, contributing to ease the problem of transportation in African cities.

According to the Buscar Managing Director, Mr. Friday Yange, the bus is supported by qualified technicians to become a better coach bus which is affordable and enduring. The company supported by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) revealed that an agreement with the company will replace new urban buses by 89 yellow buses in Lagos State. 

He also narrated brand's history since they were the Bonluck's distributor in Nigeria since 2008. In 2015, the Buscar concept was drawn and produced in accordance with Nigeria's automotive and domestic content policy. In the context of increasing globalization of bus producers, there are some new faces emerging in Nigeria and Africa as well, and Buscar has now become one of them.

The bus was made in a partnership with Cummins which is a world-renowned engine builder, at an existing facility in Asia. Moreover, the company is about to complete a manufacture in Nigeria, in order to enhance internal capacity and create more jobs for people.

Explaining the reason for choosing Cummins as a partner, Mr. Yange said that it was because Cummins was tested and certified by testimony to become the world's leader in building and producing automobile engines.

The NURTW President, Mr. Nojeem Yasin highly appreciated Cummins for its audacity and expressed his belief in a bright future of our country.

In return, Mr. Kwame Gyan-Tawiah, the Managing Director of Cummins West Africa, praised Buscar because of its enormous success in bringing the world an Nigerian coach brand. He said Buscar's strategy was in line with the philosophy of Cummins business which is working as a international company with local attendance.

 “Our strategy especially for Africa is to bring our resources closer to our customers and end users to ensure dependable power, a pleasing experience and all-round after-market solution,” said the Director.

He also confirmed that the Cummins not only trains and provides aftersales service but also assures that Buscar's genuine spare parts are available at competitive and affordable prices.
