The FRSC in Kogi state has confirmed that brake failure caused a recent fatal car crash that claimed three lives on Okene-Auchi road. It was reported that a truck suffered brake failure and rammed into a stationary bus along the road. This ghastly road accident happened at about 10:00 am on the morning of Wednesday, August 17.
Three people died in a recent fatal car crash that was caused by brake failure in Kogi state
Stephen Dawulung, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Kogi State has confirmed this recent fatal car crash that claimed three lives. He revealed that the accident occurred near Ogudar Village along the Okene-Auchi road. Three different vehicles were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles was said to be a Nissan bus that was parked at the back of a truck around a military checkpoint. Unfortunately, an oncoming truck suffered brake failure and lost control on the road. The oncoming truck rammed into the stationary Nissan bus and smashed it into the other parked truck at the checkpoint.
The three persons that died in the recent Kogi car crash were said to be passengers of the stationary Nissan bus. They were crushed to death when the other truck smashed into the bus from its rear end and then pinned it onto the truck in front. The bodies of the deceased accident victims were reportedly deposited at the mortuary of Okengwen General hospital in Okene LGA, Kogi State. All of the passengers that died are said to be males. It was also revealed that two other passengers managed to escape unhurt in the crash. While commenting on this accident, the Kogi State FRSC boss urged motorists to always do a routine maintenance check for their vehicles. Such practice could help avoid situations of mechanical issues like sudden brake failure.
