Naijauto is impressed with the newly launched driver verification portal by popular ride-hailing service, Bolt – in an effort to improve the safety and security of its platform.
Bolt had partnered with YouVerify in launching this new customized and secure verification portal for all Nigerian drivers registered on its ride-hailing platform.
During the announcement of this new verification portal, the City manager Bolt, Mr Femi Akin-Laguda emphasized more on how the company is truly concerned about the safety of its drivers as well as the passengers using its services. He also said;
“This unique portal was developed in partnership with our supply operations team ensuring that it effectively meets our needs but is also not excessively intrusive for our driver-partners.
“The system will be driven by YouVerify’s proprietary identity verification technology which provides the tools to validate various documentation and data and provide key requirements for an ideal verification solution that boosts both service quality and customer safety,”

Mr Laguda also explained that this new portal is an improvement over the previous one they had and that this new one will greatly help the company curb impersonations and frauds. Further in his speech, he said that;
“All the driver has to do is initiate the verification request, provide all the information required and the portal verifies the driver’s home address, the driver’s documents and face, and verifies the BVN against the database of NIBSS to confirm their identity,”
During this same launch event, the CEO of YouVerify – Gbenga Odegbemi also gave his view on the new partnership when he said;
“our partnership with Bolt to deploy the highest security and privacy standards will ensure that all verifications are done reliably and securely without compromising the privacy of the drivers.”
