German automaker, BMW releases new interesting ad video to promote its X5 Protection VR6 bulletproof model
We have many times revealed quite a lot about armored cars and the top 3 companies that specialize in car armoring in Nigeria but rarely do we see any local or international auto company releasing commercials for their bulletproof cars. BMW is definitely a brand that likes to surprise car lovers.
The German automaker recently released a 75-second ad video that features its X5 Protection VR6 armored car in a “race” with a bullet. Yes, you read that right; the SUV raced and won a bullet from a gun.
Below is the ad video released by BMW;
Power from within. The BMW X5 Protection VR6.
First, we have to mention that this BMW X5 Protection VR6 model may not win a race with a bullet from a gun. In reality, however, it will bounce off many common bullets shot at it. The armored SUV can comfortably handle bullets from an AK-47 with 7.62-mm caliber rounds. Yes, a gun that shoots bullets at 715 meters-per-second velocity or simply put around 1,600mph. Meanwhile, the BMW X5 Protection VR6 SUV is capped at a 131 mph electronically limited top speed.
The major takeaway from the ad video is the level of comfort felt by the VIP sitting on the second row of the SUV while the driver was executing some astonishing maneuvers before eventually going head-on with the bullet itself. And at the end of the video, we can clearly see the bullet bounce harmlessly to the floor of the tiled road. It was a very dramatic demonstration of the armoring power possessed by a bulletproof car.
