Just when traffic was returning back to normal in the Agatu LGA of Benue state following an earlier tanker explosion accident; fresh reports say that another such incident has occurred around that same location again. While the first incident involved a petrol-laden tanker, this new explosion was that of a Kerosene-laden tanker.
Oshigbudu community in Benue state have reportedly experienced yet another tanker explosion just 48 hours after a previous one
A few days ago, the headlines of several media outlets stated that many people were feared dead in the Benue tanker explosion. Unfortunately, a similar report has also made it to the headlines following another tanker explosion incident around the same location in Benue state. These consecutive series of horrifying incidents reportedly occurred around the Oshigbudu community in Agatu LGA, Benue State. One good part of the latest incident is the fact that several reports confirmed that no loss of life was recorded although many houses and properties got burnt.
According to media sources, the community was thrown into deep sorrow by this new incident because they had not even recovered from the damages created by the previous explosion incident. Press reports revealed that the conductor of the tanker that recently exploded has been arrested while the tanker driver is at large. Mr Yakubu Muhammad, the commander of FRSC in Benue State blamed the loss of control as the cause of the tanker explosion. He also confirmed that no lives were lost in the recent accident but two houses got burnt down.
