From a new report getting to us, Dansadau, the second biggest town in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara was recently invaded by a group of bandits, who ended up looting property and rustling animals.

The bandits after abducting the travellers stormed a community in Zamfara, carting away their valuables

Husaini Yanbiyu, who happens to be an indigene of the town, while confirming the story, revealed that the bandit stormed the community around 4 pm, armed to the teeth and was shooting sporadically. According to him, the people in the community scrambled to safety due to the gunshots of the bandits that were coming from all directions.

Yanbiyu, who couldn't ascertain if there was any casualty from the recent attack, further disclosed that all the residents had to stay inside for their safety due to the non-availability of security personnel in the area. According to him, it will be possible to know if there was any casualty when everyone leaves their hiding spots. He further stated that the bandits abducted 18 travellers earlier in the day who at the time were inside a bus on their way to Gusau town.

SP Mohammed Shehu, who happens to be the Police Public Relation Officer in Zamfara State, couldn't provide much information as he claimed the police command wasn't aware of any kidnap incident in the area. He also promised to get back to the news agency that contacted him on the attack.
