Suspected armed robbers in Lokoja paid an unexpected visit to an expatriate who owns a ceramic company located at Obajana in Kogi State. He was on his way back from the bank accompanied by police escort, and the robbers snatched N10million from him on Tuesday, July, 2, 2019.

According to reports, the incident occurred at a fuel station around Ganaja village – a settlement in the state capital, Lokoja. It was initially reported that the one-man escort with the expatriate was killed in the process of the robbery. However, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Busari, who confirmed the incident, said that the Police Officer was shot in the leg. He also disclosed that a number of people had been arrested by the police in regards to the robbery.

Speaking further, Busari stated that the issue was under investigation, and findings would be communicated to the public.
