Yes, the incident happened over the course of the week when he got into a heated argument with traffic police officers. The altercation was captured on camera and his story went viral after the video was posted on social media. Rufai’s story went viral mainly because he is well-known for condemning corruption and indiscipline during his TV sessions.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State police command gave more details on Oseni Rufai’s case in a recent Twitter post. The police PRO confirmed that Rufai was charged to a mobile court in Lagos for violating the 2018 state transport law. Eventually, Oseni Rufai was tried and found guilty of driving his car on BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) Lane. This led the court to fine Rufai a ₦70,000 charge.

The spokesperson of Lagos state police has confirmed that Arise TV anchor, Oseni Rufai paid his ₦70,000 fine after a court judgement. He also revealed that the police released Rufai’s impounded vehicle to him immediately after the payment. Also, the video added above in this article confirms that Rufai Oseni is now “calm” about the situation. However, the popular TV presenter still maintains his allegations that an officer pointed a gun at him during the incident. This accusation is yet to be addressed by the Lagos police as of the time of writing this report.
