Apple now is trying its hand at a project codenamed "Titan" to develop its own electric car after bombarding the music player and smartphone markets. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple proposed the idea back in 2014 and it is believed that the project was assigned to Steve Zadesky, the Vice President.
Still under such a furtive cover, this car project is claimed, at the moment, to be developed and researched by Apple Inc. However, Apple has not given any comments on this project.
Mickey Drexler, an Apple Board Member, said that the idea was actually proposed by Steve Jobs
On the other hand, Mickey Drexler, an Apple Board Member, said that the idea was provoked by Steve Jobs, the former CEO and also co-founder of Apple, after the debut car of Tesla Motors.
Speaking of developing the electric car, Apple took it seriously when having hundreds of workers employed working for the birth of the vehicle called ‘Titan’. Later, the Steve Zadesky, the Vice-President of Design with Vice-President of Product working alongside with Dan Riccio, with the approval of CEO Tim Cook, decided to employ 1000+ workers to help speed up the project. Afterward, Apple took the next step to meet contract carmakers to join and take responsibility for the procedure.

The new teams unexpectedly made quick headway in the project. The technologies applied on the car just seemed to be out of this world. To be more specific, they would introduce silent motorized doors, well-furnished interiors, gas pedals, a better LIDAR sensor that juts out less from the car top, LED Reality Displays, and were about to make a change in producing the spherical wheels.

Unfortunately, there were lots of disagreements among the executives who could not arrive at unanimous decisions on even key features, such as whether it will be autonomous or semi-autonomous. And for that reason, the project suffers lengthy delays.
Rumour has it that Apple car may be made public sometime in 2020 but with no official statement by Apple, the project could remain a mystery for a long time to come.
