A paradox on Lagos streets: Law by Government does not work on Government’s civil servants

10/11/2018
It seems LASAA laws don't reach politicians and is only applied to common people?

Advertisement posters are enemies of the clean street landscape. It used to be strictly punished by the government if anyone tries his hand at a street wall or anything in the public.

In fact the LASAA (Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency Law) which was launched in 2006 had met its deed for a long period of time that it was nearly impossible for Lagos residents to catch sights of those advertising bacteria in the street of the mentioned-above state though before it came into effects Lagos had been full of unsightly banners, posters, signboards, etc.

We cannot deny the colossal effect LASAA brought into every street and road of Lagos which states in Section 168 of the Criminal Law, 2015 that the culprit will be exposed to a fine of Ninety thousand nairas or if worse, a 6-month imprisonment.
