At least 9 people have been reported injured in an auto crash that happened last Wednesday in Anambra State. From reports, the unfortunate road incident happened on the Awka-Nteje-Onitsha expressway, involving a Lexus SUV and a Toyota Hiace Bus.
Nine people suffered varying degrees of injury from the recent auto crash in Anambra State
According to eyewitnesses’ reports, the road crash was caused by wrongful overtaking and overspeeding. Andrew Kumapayi, who happens to be the Sector Commander of FRSC in Anambra, confirmed the road crash. Fortunately, he disclosed that no one died from the incident.

Kumapayi revealed that nine people were inflicted with injuries in a road crash that involved a Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle with the number plate AWK 71 EX and a Toyota Hiace bus with number plate BDG 313 XQ. The bus is said to be owned by the Onitsha South Transport Company.
The Sector Commander further revealed that the road crash took place around Igbariam, opposite Micado Factory, along Awka-Ntege-Onitsha expressway, which involved 18 people, consisting of eleven male adults and seven female adults; the 9 people that were injured comprise 5 males and 4 females. The injured people were taken to the FRSC Clinic in Nteje for medical treatment by the rescue team on ground while the FRSC officials from the Nteje unit command also cleared the road of obstruction.
He, however, sent warning to motorists to refrain from excessive speeding and adhere strictly to the speed limits set by the law. Meanwhile, eight people reportedly lost their lives in separate auto crashes that happened last weekend in Ogun State and Osun State.
