Guess what? Lagos state government has just enlisted over 87 major roads for immediate potholes repair across the state. Catch up with the full gist here now!

How would you feel if you suddenly wake up and realize that there are hardly any bad roads with potholes in Lagos? Wouldn’t you feel great?

It was such a bliss of fresh air that we felt here at Naijauto.com on getting this update stating that the current Lagos State government has put out a new set of action plans to rehabilitate as much as 87 major roads across the state. Yay!!!

This rehabilitation process is going to be executed mainly as potholes repair on some already enlisted 87 major roads all over the state.

Good News as Lagos State Government gives the order to begin rehabilitation of 87 major roads in Lagos

On Friday 19th of April 2019, Engr. Temidayo Erinle, the Lagos State Public Works Corporation and Drainage’s Special Advisor, said in a statement that Mr Akinwumi Ambode, the outgoing state Governor had already directed the Corporation to commence an immediate repair of potholes on the major roads across Lagos.

He claims that all the roads that have been mapped out and enlisted are all in a currently horrible state and the situation of each of these roads have been impeding the free flow of vehicular traffic.

In his statement, Engr. Temidayo Erinle went further to say;

“We have received quite a number of complaints from residents and motorists on the State of the roads and how it was directly affecting travel time which in turn has negative effects on the ease of doing business in the State.

“The Governor has therefore directed the Public Works Corporation to move immediately and commence repair on those roads to ameliorate the traffic that residents have been going through as a result of the State of the roads,”

Engr. Erinle, however, appealed to the motorists and residents to try to bear with the state government. He urges them to ensure they drive carefully while the potholes’ repairs are ongoing. Hem also assured the people that in just a few weeks’ time, all of the potholes should have disappeared on the roads in Lagos.

Some of these 87 captured roads enlisted for immediate repair include Ikeja road, Acme-Oba Akran road, Olaniyi road in Ifako Ijaiye, Apapa road, Marina Beach road, Amuwo Odofin road, Aka-Kemberi road, Dopemu road, Alimosho road, Ijegun road, and Ikotun-Egbe road.

Some other roads on the list include Eti-Osa road, Obalende road, Somolu road, Alakija/WEAC road, Babs Animashaun road in Surulere, Itire Lawanson, Itire-Ogunlana drive intersection, Herbert Macaulay road in Lagos Mainland local government, Glover road, Costain road by Brewery area, Sabo Market road in Ikorodu, Ijede Road, among many others.

In case you couldn’t find the name of the road in your area listed above in our short list, do not panic as the original list is very long and cannot be contained in this single post. But, be rest assured that all of the 87 enlisted roads and areas have been promised that none will be left untouched.

This is however not the first time that a ruling state government in Lagos state will put out such an order like this but the project only gets done partially while the rest will be left. No one can really say or predict for now if the so-called outgoing Ambode’s government will be able to pull off this last card before finally signing out.

But, like the Nigerian elders will say; “all well and good”, let’s all wait and see how it will all end later on.
