Tragedy struck as 8 people were reportedly killed in a separate road accidents at Ogere, along Lagos/Ibadan Expressways in Ogun Sate and Iwo-Ibadan Road in Iwo, Osun State.
Lives were lost during the weekend in separate road crashes in Ogun State and Osun State
From what we learnt, the road accident in Ogun State involved a Honda Pilot SUV and a truck, claiming 6 lives and one injured. This recent Ogun crash was confirmed by one Ahmed Umar, who happens to be the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun State. He revealed this to the press at Abeokuta, state’s capital during the weekend.
According to him, the SUV driver lost control of the car due to overspeeding at around 7.0 am. Umar further revealed that 8 men and 1 woman were involved in the mishap. Unfortunately, 5 men and the only woman died in the fatal auto crash.

Umar disclosed that the SUV with the number plate LSR 525 FY lost control and crashed into a truck on motion with the number plate KRV 716 ZV.
The bodies of the dead victims have been deposited at the FOS Morgue in Ipara while the injured victim was rushed to Idera Hospital in Ogere, where he is currently receiving treatment. Umar, however, urged road motorists to always adhere to road rules and regulation to avoid such tragedy.

Meanwhile, another road crash that happened around 10 am on Saturday in Osun State claimed the lives of a man and a woman. From eyewitness’s report, the accident happened when a Lexus car and Bajaj motorcycle had a head-on collision. From the report, four people were also inflicted with injuries and were taken to the General Hospital in Iwo for quick medical attention.
This tragic road incident including the casualties was confirmed by one Agnes Ogungbemi, who is the Public Education Officer of the FRSC command in Osun State. From what she said, the accident was either caused by the violation of speed limit or reckless driving. The corpses of the victims have been deposited at the General Hospital located in Iwo.
