From a new report getting to us on the disturbing activities of gunmen in the northern part of the country, eight people were killed while four were injured in separate attacks in Kajuru and Kachia local government areas in Kaduna State. These attacks were carried out by armed bandits, who have been terrorizing that region for quite some time now.

Samuel Aruwan, who happens to be the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, while confirming this unfortunate news, revealed in an official statement last Tuesday that the Kaduna-Kachia road around Kadanye Village in Kajuru local government area was barricaded by these armed bandits, who opened fire on a bus and also a truck conveying firewood.

Five people that were killed in the attack that happened on the 6th of April have been identified as Abdulrahman Dela, Umar Dauda, Dauda Adamu, Abdulrasheed Musa and the driver of the bus with the name Alfred Makinde. The three injured people who are presently at the hospital receiving treatment include Ali Manager, Abdullahi and Murtala Ibrahim.

We also learnt that armed bandits shot at a truck, where the driver was killed after barricading the Kaduna-Kachia road at the Doka axis of the same local government. Similarly, they also shot at a vehicle at Akiibu village in the Kachia local government area of the state, where they ended up inflicting serious injuries on two people. One of the victims identified as Mansur Ibrahim eventually died at the hospital while receiving treatment.
However, the commissioner revealed that the administration of the state is saddened by the recent occurrence and had sent condolences to the families of the deceased. Aruwan said that security agencies are carrying out investigations at the sites of the attacks and information will be released to the public after the conclusion of the operations.
