New traffic reports reaching us confirm that at least seven people recently lost their lives in a ghastly road accident that happened on Thursday 13th of January 2022 in Bauchi State. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) command in the state, the unfortunate incident took place around 12:30pm along Bauchi-Jos road in Haka Yafi village. This latest road incident joins a long list of horrific road accidents caused by overspeeding in Nigeria.
The head-on collision between two commercial vehicles led to the loss of lives in Bauchi
The recent Bauchi road crash involved two vehicles traveling in opposite directions. Yusuf Abdullahi, who is the sector commander of FRSC command in Bauchi State, corroborated this claim. He said that the two commercial vehicles in question include a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number KUJ 182 TU and a Sharon minibus with registration number YLA 88 ZY. He revealed that the tragic incident was reportedly caused by overspeeding. The driver of the Sharon bus has been identified as Mustapha Adamu while the FRSC personnel who were present at the site couldn't ascertain the identity of the other driver.

FRSC personnel ensured smooth movement of traffic after the recent Bauchi crash happened
During the rescue operation, it was confirmed that nine people who were victims of this road crash were all males. The bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital. The two people who survived the ordeal were also rushed to the same hospital for medical treatment. The FRSC officials were able to recover items from the scene of the accident such as a sum of ₦109,090 and six different mobile phones. They were also able to clear any obstruction on the road to ease the movement of traffic.
