The unfortunate incident took place around 10 am when the driver lost control of the truck and rammed into people waiting at the bus-stops and the stationary tricycles around. From what we gathered, the truck was heading towards Idiroko Road when the tragedy struck. After realizing he had lost control of the truck, the driver tried to avoid ramming into other vehicles. Instead, he ended up killing 7 people and injuring many in the process.

According to one Gbenga Osinake, who was an eyewitness to the event, revealed that an elderly man, whose identify is yet to be revealed, died instantly from the crash while others followed him shortly after. By the time the driver was able to put the truck to a halt, several other people had been inflicted with serious injuries. This eye witness’s report was also confirmed by one community leader identified as Alhaji Yusuf.
