From a new report reaching us, the operatives of the Quick Intervention Team of the Imo State Police Command have apprehended 7 released Abia convicts who allegedly stole an SUV.
Seven Abia ex-convicts arrested for stealing Lexus SUV in Imo State
Orlando Ikeokwu, who happens to be the spokesperson for the police command in Imo State, while confirming the arrest, revealed that the suspects snatched a Lexus 350 SUV with registration number KSF 758 FS on the 1st of February, 2021 in Aba, Abia State.

According to him, the report of the stolen vehicle was filed at the state command, which prompted the special response team to take quick action in getting those criminals arrested. Ikeokwu stated that the police through thorough investigation were able to apprehend the following suspects for their involvement in the crime.
The names of these suspects are Igelegbe Chinwendu, Amado Kennedy, Nwaorie Moses, Chinedu Agwu, Godfrey Ntosi, Ejiofor Egwe and Eze Obinwanne. Fortunately for the police operatives, they were able to retrieve the stolen SUV from them. The police spokesperson further disclosed that the suspects were released from Aba Prison in Abia State after finishing their jail time for committing the same crime.

The suspects were said to have confessed to committing the crime. According to their statement, Nwaoerie Moses Igilegbe Chinedu and Amado Kennedy are those responsible for snatching the vehicle, while others are given the job of changing the face of the stolen car. This includes rebranding, removing security and tracking devices and also selling it off to potential buyers.
Ikeokwu stated that an arrangement has been made to transfer this case, including the suspects to Abia State for further investigations and prosecution.
