From a new report reaching us, 6 people have been killed in a tragic road crash involving a fuel-laden truck and two tricycles, at the Ntak Inyang Village, a few miles away from Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State.
Several people lost their lives in a fatal road crash, reportedly caused by a fuel-laden truck
According to the report, the fuel tanker rammed into the two keke, where it caught fire and burnt down the tricycles and their passengers. The unfortunate incident happened in the early hours on Monday along the part of the road currently under maintenance by the state government.
An eyewitness, who claimed anonymity, revealed that the accident was caused by the congestion on the free lane, which compacted the traffic. The source further said that the truck crashed into the tricycle, which at the time was coming from the opposite side of the road.

Mr. Ogah Ochi, who happens to be the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Akwa Ibom State, while confirming the story, revealed that two trucks were involved in this fatal road crash from the conducted preliminary report.
Ochi further said that the second truck fled the scene after causing the accident that claimed many lives. According to him, five males and one female were killed in the crash. The truck that got burnt according to him was trying to veer off from the other truck that tried to overtake it on the road. As a result, the truck ended up ramming into the two tricycles.
