Everybody makes mistakes they say, however, it is just sometimes better to completely avoid doing somethings that can make us more vulnerable to making costly mistakes. One of such things is perpetual overtaking every time we are on the expressway; it usually makes a driver prone to encountering an accident. The Oyo state FRSC command confirmed in new reports that 4 people recently lost their lives while 2 others got injured in a recent car accident that was allegedly caused by a miscalculated overtaking in Ibadan.
The horrific accident allegedly caused by overtaking claims 4 lives and left 2 injured in Ibadan, Oyo state
According to press reports, the horrific crash occurred on Monday 21st of December 2020 around Akinyele LGA in Ibadan, Oyo state. Eyewitnesses claim that the accident was caused by a Nissan Micra taxi driver who tried to overtake a heavy-duty truck but ended up colliding head-on with another car that was coming from the opposite side of the road. The Micra taxi was said to have probably “miscalculated” the overtaking or simply did it at a wrong time because he was unable to get ahead of the truck before ramming into an oncoming vehicle.
To make matters even worse, an Amotekun Operative who was at the scene of the incident reported that one of the vehicles involved in the crash also suffered a brake failure as well. It was, however, not specified in press reports whether it was the Micra taxi, or the heavy-duty truck, or the oncoming vehicle that suffered brake failure. The only unfortunate part of the entire accident was the fact that all four passengers in the Nissan Micra taxi reportedly lost their lives while two other persons were also injured during the crash.
